A parquet floor can be divided into several categories, which differ, for example, in structure, appearance and type of installation. The pre-finished 3-layer parquet has a top layer, an intermediate layer and, in addition, a bottom that protects the entire structure from below. For the middle layer, birch elements 2 to 4 mm thick are usually used which are glued at a 90 degree angle to the top layer. A fir veneer forms the third layer of the structure and forms the basis of the entire parquet board.
Compared to two-layer parquet, a 3-layer parquet can be glued or laid floating on a suitable surface. In the second variant, an additional installation of walkable sound insulation is recommended for better and relaxed living comfort.
